காக்கா ஸ்கூல்

பள்ளிப் படிப்பை தாண்டாதவர்கள் என்பதாலும், 90களின் தனியார்மையமாக்கல் கொள்கையினை எதிர்கொண்ட முதல் தலைமுறை என்பதாலும், தன் பிள்ளைகள் ஆங்கிலம் சரளமாக பேச வேண்டும் என்ற பேரா(ஆ)சையினாலும், சுற்றத்தாரின் அழுத்ததினாலும் (இது குறைவே), எனது பெற்றோர்கள் எங்களை தனியார் ஆங்கில (கிருத்துவ) பள்ளி ஒன்றில் சேர்த்தனர். பள்ளிக்கு மிதிவண்டியிலும், பள்ளி பேருந்திலும் சென்று வந்தோம். ஆனால் இப்பதிவு என் பள்ளி பற்றியதல்ல. நான் பள்ளி சென்ற வழியில் வேறு ஒரு பள்ளி இருந்தது. அதன் பெயர்  "காக்கா ஸ்கூல்."

 

சிறியவர்கள் முதல் பெரியவர்கள் வரை அப்பள்ளியை அவ்வாறே அழைத்தனர். அவ்வளவு ஏன், அப்பள்ளியில் பயிலுபவர்களிடம் "எங்க படிக்கற" என்று கேட்டால், "காக்கா ஸ்கூல்ல" என்றே சொல்வார்கள். இருபாலர் பயின்ற பள்ளி. பெரிய மைதானம் உண்டு. பெரிய பெரிய மரங்கள் சூழ்ந்த நிழல் பரந்த வளாகம். மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் அலுவலத்திற்கு அருகாமையில் இருந்தது. நியாய விலைக்கடைக்கு எதிரே. வீட்டு வசதி வாரிய குடியிருப்புகளின் மத்தியில். வாக்கு செலுத்தும் மையமாகவும், வாக்கு எண்ணும் மையமாகவும் செயல்படும். தடுப்பூசி செலுத்தப்படும். இவ்வாறு முக்கியமான இடத்தில் அமைந்து, பல ரகங்களில் பணிகளால் சூழப்பட்டு எப்போதும் துடிப்புடனே இருப்பது சாலையில் புதிதாக செல்பவர்களுக்குக்கூட விளங்கும். மரங்கள் நிறைய இருந்ததால் நிறைய காகங்களும் இருக்கும். ஆனால் அப்பள்ளி "காக்கா ஸ்கூல்" என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டதற்கு காரணம் வேறு.

நூற்றுக்கணக்கான குழந்தைகள், மாணவர்கள் பயின்று வந்த அப்பள்ளியில் எந்த நேரமும் அவர்களின் சத்தம் - பாடங்களை கூட்டாக படிக்கும் பழக்கம் மற்றும் சுதந்திரமாக விளையாடுவது - இருந்து கொண்டே இருக்கும். அதை விட அதிகமாக  மாலையில் பள்ளிவிடும் வேளையில் அத்தனை பிள்ளைகளும் 'ஓ' என்ற பெருஞ்சத்தத்துடன் கலைந்து செல்வார்கள். இவ்விரு காரணங்களே அப்பள்ளி 'காக்கா ஸ்கூல்' என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டதற்கு காரணம் என சொல்லிக் கேட்டதுண்டு. 

 

 

நானும் அப்பள்ளியை அவ்வாறே அழைப்பேன். அப்பள்ளியின் பெயர் தெரியாது, தெரிந்து கொள்ள முயற்சிக்கவும் இல்லை. யாரும் என்னை திருத்தவும் இல்லை. அப்பள்ளியை தாண்டும் போது ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் ஒரு கர்வம் தோன்றியதுண்டு. நான் உயர்ந்த இடத்தில் படிப்பதாகவும், "காக்கா ஸ்கூல்" தாழ்ந்தது என்றும், அங்கு படிப்பவர்களை விட எனக்கு அதிகம் தெரியும் என்றும். இந்த எண்ணம் என்னுடன் படித்தவர்களுக்கு இருந்ததையும் நினைவுக்கூற முடிகிறது. 

குறிப்பிட்ட வயதினை தாண்டிய பிறகே அப்பள்ளியின் பெயர் "பஞ்சாயத்து யூனியன் பள்ளி" என தெரிந்து கொண்டேன். அதனை தொடர்ந்து அதிர்ஷ்ட்டவசமாக வயதுடன் சேர்ந்து கிடைக்கப்பெற்ற முதிர்ச்சியில் - புத்தகங்கள், தொடர்புகள், பயணங்கள் வழியாக - (அப்)பள்ளி தொடர்பான அறியாமையிலிருந்து கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக விடுப்பட்டு வருகிறேன். எனினும் அன்று அறியாமையிலிருந்ததை இப்போது நினைவுக்கூறும் போது அவமானமாக உள்ளது. நிச்சயம் அப்பள்ளியில் பயின்ற நிறைய பேர் நல்ல பணியில் இருப்பார்கள். சமுதாயத்திற்கு ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட வழியில் தங்களால் இயன்றதை செய்து கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். என்னைக் காட்டிலும் பல மடங்கு பயனுள்ள வாழ்க்கையை இந்தியாவின் அல்லது உலகின் ஏதோ ஒரு மூலையில் வாழ்ந்துக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.

இந்த நினைவுகள் இப்போது தோன்ற காரணம், இந்த கல்வியாண்டில் எனது மகள் வீட்டின் அருகாமையில் உள்ள ஒரு "பஞ்சாயத்து யூனியன் தொடக்க பள்ளி"யில் முதலாம் வகுப்பில் சேர்ந்து பயின்று வருகிறாள். யாருக்கோ இது ஒரு "காக்கா ஸ்கூல்" என தோன்றலாம். பாவம், அவர்களுக்கும் என்னை போல பல வருடத்திற்கு பிறகு அந்த மாயை மறையலாம்.

Rocketry: My thoughts & takeaways!

A Biopic is not common in Tamil Cinema. So is a science film. And a FAMILY movie is equally  uncommon. As "Rocketry, The Nambi Effect" fits into all these categories, it has to be received well by the audience, no matter what. I would say, as a token of appreciation to the makers behind, do watch it with family. 

 

Our young kids might not understand a bit of it; adolescents may find it boring here and there; and adults will have to tune away from their regular mode to watch this genre. Yet, this movie will kindle thoughts in every age group in different forms. A kid might develop an interest in Science, an adolescent might choose a career in this path and an adult will have an altogether different takeaways (from family bonding to societal pressures to blind followers).

 And mine are here!!!

(Spoilers ahead. But since this movie is a biopic, these spoilers will not affect your watching experience in any way)

(1) The lead character 'Nambi Narayanan' persuades a senior, reputed Professor @ Princeton University to guide him through his Thesis. The persuasion technique is my point of discussion. In the movie, the student convinces the guide that he would take care of all his household chores and help with taking care of his ailing wife and in turn he insists that the guide shares his KNOWLEDGE and helps him complete his thesis. Now, what will happen if our contemporary research scholars and guides understand it superficially and justify their unethical (disgusting) patterns we see!!!! The whole scenario in the movie is distinct from our scholars doing chores to get their research done. There is no way one could compare these two. I hope/wish nobody does so!!!

(2) Except the terms 'solids' & 'liquids' I do not remember understanding any other technical terms used in the movie. That shows my standard of 'Physics' and the standard of my teachers. When one could learn Physics even while making an egg omlette, whose fault is that I never developed any curiosity to learn or question or doubt!!!! 

(3) Scholars across the world had this habit of writing to great achievers, authors and scientists to share their experience of reading their works, raising concerns and also to criticize. In turn, they did receive (humble) responses. This habit seems to be eroding away from our society and at least a handful of movie watchers might revive this.

 (4) Patriotism, sedition, anti-Indian, traitor and so on and on and on.... These words seem to be overrated to me. I have a serious doubt of what patriotism is and who a traitor is!!!! Overdose in usage of these words is putting many lives on line and is also ending up making many of us less tolerant, less rational and less empathetic. The intrusion of both old and new media is effortlessly provoking the already confused state of minds of people. This movie is an example of it, though the new media's role was absent then. That takes me to the next point that humans are/have always been easily prone to broadcasting negative messages with whatever mode of communication available. 

(5) I happened to watch this movie with hundreds of school children. Young among the lot revealed that they did not understand or it felt boring. Yet towards the climax the whole bunch applauded when good was victorious over the evil and it has to be celebrated! It was heartwarming. Yet, we forget to tell them that the we are collectively responsible for those 'evil' too!!!

Changing face of Zoo

Most of us would have fond memories of visiting zoo with friends & family in our childhood days. It used to be a fun-filled day to go around the huge space, to get a glance of wild & ferocious animals in  close vicinity and we would carry back a ton of memories to ponder over in following days.

 

To keep pace with changing needs & times, the Aringar Anna Zoological Park, popularly known as Vandalur Zoo, takes several innovative steps. To start with, their website is updated and gives you all information you need. From booking tickets to avoid crowded counters to booking a ride inside, it makes our job easier and the website is thoroughly user-friendly.

Secondly, the live telecast 24*7 is really cool and we could make our children visit the application/website and see what their favorite animal does at the moment. Though it is not as thrilling as it would be to spot the animal in person, this is definitely engaging for children. This is called as Live Virtual Zoo! Do take a look if you haven't seen before!

Thirdly, the Zoo has several programmes to involve public and children. Some of those are Zoo School, Certificate programmes, Zoo club, in-house training and orientation. Yet, I find "Zoo Ambassador" programme to be the most attractive. Children get enrolled either in summer or winter camps and get hands-on experience of animals, ecosystem and exposure to expert knowledge. The same programme is free for government school children for one day. Importantly, there are many incentives & gifts given to the children who become ambassadors of Zoo. Parents may consider this programme during the next spell. 

 Lastly, the Zoo gives us an opportunity to contribute to the welfare of those Zoo animals by means of adoption! One can adopt any animal for any number of days based on our interest, liking and financial status. The need to look after these animals has grown post-Covid and by making a contribution to our ability could be our way of thanking those animals for entertaining us, to say the least! We could encourage our children to independently save in their piggy-bank every year and could make the contribution from their own hands. It might thrill them to learn the fact that they had fed an elephant or lion one day from their own pocket money!! 

 

There are other contests and events conducted regularly and visiting their website would give us those notifications. The role of Zoo has become more interactive and it's our turn to plunge in with our kids!

ரஷ்ய சிறார் இலக்கியச் சிறப்பிதழ் – வாசிப்பு அனுபவம்

குட்டி ஆகாயத்தின் 13வது இதழ் ரஷ்ய இலக்கியத்தினை குழந்தைகளுக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதாக அமைந்துள்ளது. ரஷ்யாவிற்கும் இலக்கியத்திற்குமான தொடர்பு, வாசிப்புப் பழக்கம் இல்லாதவர்களும் அறிந்த ஒன்று என்றே சொல்ல வேண்டும். எனினும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு ரஷ்ய இலக்கியம் அளித்துள்ள பொக்கிஷங்கள் பலவும், பலரும் அறியாதவை. அந்த வகையில் இந்த இதழ் ஒரு சிறந்த முன்னெடுப்பே. ஆங்கிலத்தில் First Comes First என சொல்வதுண்டு. அந்த வகையில் இந்த இதழ் பழுப்பு நிற பக்கங்களில் அச்சிட்டுள்ளது மிகவும் பொருத்தம். ரஷ்ய இலக்கியத்தின் தொன்மைக்கானக் குறியீடாகத் தோன்றுகிறது. மேலும் குட்டி ஆகாயம் தனக்கென ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட கட்டமைப்புக் கொள்ளாமல் ஒவ்வொரு இதழுக்கும் ஏற்றவாறு தன்னை வடிவமைத்துக்கொள்வது அருமை. 

இந்த இதழில் என்னை கவர்ந்த ஐந்து விஷயங்கள்:

(1 (1) முதலாவதாக இடம்பெற்றுள்ள “கதை சொல்லி” என்ற கதை. கதையின் சாராம்சம், இரு சிறுவர்கள் யார் அதிகமாகவும், பிரம்மாண்டமாகவும் பொய் சொல்கிறார்கள் என்பது.  பொய் சொல்லக் கூடாது என நம் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு சொல்லுத்தந்தும், அவ்வாறே வாழவும் முயற்சி செய்யும் போது ‘இது என்ன விளையாட்டு?’ என தோன்றினாலும் தவறில்லை. அதற்கான விடையும் அந்த கதையிலேயே கிடைத்துவிடுகிறது. இதைவிட முக்கியமான ஒன்று, கதை சொல்வதும் கேட்பதும் அலாதியானது. ஆனால் பலரால் (பெரும்பாலான பெரியவர்களாலும், சில குழந்தைகளாலும்) தங்களின் கற்பனையினை பெரிதாக்கி அற்புதமான கதைகளை அளிக்க இயலுவதில்லை. இதற்கு முக்கியமான காரணம் அவர்களால் நிஜத்தை ஒட்டியும், நீதி போதனைகளுடனும், ஏதேனும் ஒரு கருத்தை முன்னிருத்தியுமே கதைகளை உருவாக்க முடிகிறது. இந்த ‘கதை சொல்லி’ கதையின் நாயகர்கள் விளையாடும் விளையாட்டை நாம் விளையாட முயற்சித்தால் நம் கற்பனை உலகம் விரிந்து அருமையான கதை சொல்லிகளாக முடியும். இதை ஒரு குழு விளையாட்டாக விளையாடும் பட்சத்தில் பல கதைகள் கிடைக்க வாய்ப்புகள் அதிகம். எங்கள் வீட்டின் இரவு நேர விளையாட்டில் இதுவும் இப்போது சேர்ந்துக்கொண்டது.

 ( (2) ரஷ்ய நாட்டு ஓவியர் ரசோவ்-ஐ பற்றிய குறிப்பும், அவரின் படங்களும். பெரியவர்களுக்குத்தான் பிற உயிரனங்கள் வேறானவை. குழந்தைகளுக்கோ அவை தம்மைப் போன்றவைதான். செல்லப்பிராணிகள் உள்ள வீடுகளில் அவைகளுக்கு அழகான உடைகள் அணிவிப்பதைப் பார்க்க முடிகிறது.  அதை விடவும் அழகு ரசோவின் ஓவியங்கள். ஒரு இயல்பான மனிதனைப் போன்ற சித்திரமாக இருப்பது குழந்தகளுக்கு மிகவும் நெருக்கத்தையும் அன்பையும் விதைப்பதாக உள்ளது. குழந்தை உள்ளம் கொண்ட பெரியவர்களுக்கும் தான். இந்த சித்திரங்கள் மிகவும் பிரபலமான Hobbesஐ நினைவுப்படுத்துவதாக உள்ளது.

    (3)  ரஷ்ய சிறார் இலக்கியமானது கதைகள், ஓவியங்களைத் தாண்டி அறிவியல் சார்ந்த புத்தகங்களை வழங்கியுள்ளது. இந்த இதழ் அவற்றுள் சிலவற்றை அறிமுகப்படுத்தி அவற்றைத் தேடும் எண்ணத்தைத் தூண்டுகிறது. நான் Raduga Publishers குறித்து google செய்தேன்.

 ( (4) அனைத்து பக்கங்களிலும் அருமையான படங்கள். பிள்ளைகள் வரைந்துப் பார்த்து மகிழும்படியாக உள்ளன.

  (5) பொதுவகவே ரஷ்ய இலக்கியத்தில் குழந்தைகளுக்கான கதைகள் ஒரு விதமான சாகசங்கள் கொண்டதாகவே இருக்கும். நம் ஊர் கதைகள் போல இல்லாமல். பல இடங்களில் ஆச்சரியமாகவும், நம்பகத்தன்மை இல்லாதது போன்றும் தெரியும். இருந்தும் குழந்தைகளின் பார்வையிலிருந்து படிக்கும் போது அவர்களின் தினசரி அப்படி அமையவே குழந்தைகள் விரும்புகின்றனர். அது போன்ற கதைகளும் இந்த இதழில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

பெற்றோர்களும், பிள்ளைகளும் சேர்ந்து வாசிக்க வேண்டிய இதழ்! பிள்ளைகளுக்கு ரஷ்ய இலக்கித்திறக்கான திறவுகோல் இது!

மணல்மகுடி, நாடகநிலம் - ஒரு அனுபவம்

மணல்மகுடி என்ற நாடகக்குழு என் வசிப்பிடத்திலிருந்து 90 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் உள்ள கோவில்பட்டியில் இருப்பதும், அவர்கள் கடந்த வாரம் சனிக்கிழமை (30.04.2022) அன்று "குட்டி இளவரசன்" என்ற புத்தகத்தினை சில்க் ரூட் என்ற நாடகக் குழுவுடன் இணைத்து நாடக வடிவத்தில் வழங்கப்போவதையும் அறிந்த பிறகு அங்கு செல்லாமல்  இருக்க இயலவில்லை. 

முதல் காரணம் "குட்டி இளவரசன்" என் மனதுக்கு மிக மிக நெருக்கமான புத்தகம். என் வாழ்க்கையின் மிக முக்கியமான நபர்களுக்கு இந்த புத்தகத்தை பரிசாக அளித்துள்ளேன். அவ்வளவு நெருக்கமான இந்த கதையை நாடகமாக பார்க்கப் போகிறோம் என்ற குதூகலம் தொற்றிக்கொண்டது. சற்று நேரத்தில் இந்த கதையை எவ்வாறு நாடகமாக மாற்ற இயலும் என்ற கேள்வி மலையாக எழுந்தது. இது இரண்டாவது காரணம். மூன்றாவது, எங்கள் மகள் பார்க்கும் முதல் நாடகம் "குட்டி இளவரசன்" என்பது ஒரு வகையான - சரியான வார்த்தை கிடைக்கவில்லை - மன நிறைவை, சந்தோஷத்தை, நெகிழ்வைத் தந்தது. எங்களுக்குமே நாடகங்கள் பார்த்த அனுபவங்கள் சொல்லும் அளவுக்கு இல்லை. இதனுடன் சேர்ந்து மற்ற சில சின்ன சின்ன காரணங்களால் இந்த நாடகத்துக்கு செல்வது என்று முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டு மூவரும் சென்றோம். 

எப்போதும் போல் கூகுள் கடைசி நேரத்தில் சொதப்புவது போல் தோன்றியது. பலரை விசாரித்த போது யாருக்கும் அவ்வாறான இடத்தினைப் பற்றி தகவல் தெரியவில்லை. மீண்டும் கூகுளை நம்பி சென்ற போது ஒரு முட்டுச்சந்தில் நிறுத்தியது. முட்டிய இடம் ஒரு ரயில் பாதை. இரு இளைஞர்கள் இடத்தைக் காட்டினர். ரயில் பாதையை ஒட்டி நடந்து சென்று இடத்தை அடைந்தோம். மணல்மகுடி எங்கும் அழகான சுவர் ஓவியங்கள். கலை நயமிக்க பொருட்கள் என வசீகரமாக இருந்தது. 

நாடகம் நடத்தப்படவிருக்கும் இடம் நேர்த்தியாக அமைக்கப்பெற்று, பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு கேலரி போன்ற அமைப்பு இருந்தது. மரங்கள் சூழ இருந்த இடத்தை பார்த்தவுடன் குழந்தைகளுக்கும் பெரியவர்களிக்கும் ஒன்று போல ஒரு உற்சாகம் பிறக்கும். நானும் என் மகளும் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்தோம். மாலை 6.30க்கு துவங்க வேண்டிய நாடகம் 7.00 மணிக்கு துவங்கியது. துவங்கிய பின்பே தெரிந்தது இருவர் மட்டுமே நடிக்கவுள்ளனர் என்று. இரு பெண்களும் நன்கு பரிச்சயப்பட்ட சினிமா, தொலைக்காட்சி முகங்கள். நடிப்பு , பாவைக் கூத்து, பொம்மலாட்டம் என்று வெவ்வேறு வடிவத்தில், பல பொருட்கள் கொண்டு, தங்களின் கதாபாத்திரங்களை ஒருவரோடொருவர் மாற்றிக்கொண்டு அசத்தி, 'குட்டி இளவரசன்' நம்மோடு இருப்பது போன்றே உணர வைத்தனர். புத்தகத்தை மீண்டும் கண்முன் நிறுத்தினர். நாம் நமக்குள் அவ்வப்போது தொலைத்துவிடும் குழந்தையை மீட்க உதவினர். நம் பிள்ளைகளை நாம் பார்க்கும் பார்வையில் உள்ள தவறுகளை நினைவுறுத்தினர். 'சே, நம்ம பொண்ணும் ஒரு குட்டி இளவரசினு மறந்திடுறோமே' எனவும் 'நாம ஏன் குட்டி இளவரசன் மாதிரி இருக்க மறந்திடிறோம்' எனவும் தோன்றியவாறே இருந்தது.

அந்த புத்தகத்தை வாசித்த போதே அது ஒரு கதை என நான் நம்ப மறுத்தேன். என்னைப் பொருத்தவரை அது நிஜம். முழுக்க முழுக்க நிஜம் என நம்பினேன். அந்த குட்டி இளவரசன் இப்போது கூட எங்கோ ஏதோவொரு கிரகத்தில் யாருடனோ உரையாடிக் கொண்டுதான் இருப்பான். அவன் என்றும் வளராத 'குட்டி இளவரசனா'கவே இருப்பான். நமக்குள் இருக்கும் நம்மைப் போன்று! 

மணல்மகுடியுடன் துவங்கியிள்ள இந்த உறவு நீண்ட காலம் நீடிக்கக்கூடியது! 💗

Individual vs Team sport

Thanks to Covid and eventual intrusion of mobiles into lives of children! This has distanced them from grounds, parks and plays. However, schools are now reopened for full-fledged classes and therefore playing with peer group is back!! 

This aside, Olympics Tokyo 2020 attracted more viewers due to Covid and children & adults glued themselves to television sets and got introduced to many sports. That was a never before number of viewers as most of us were forced to remain indoors. 

As a positive effect, Olympics have made more parents and children think of sport as an option for career. Interestingly, the fame and money attached made it more possible. Predominantly, individual sports!!!! No doubt, the couple of medals grabbed by Indians were motivating! 

Absolutely fine! Be it an individual sport or a team one, children being involved in any kind is a welcoming thing. It gives them a sense of discipline and independence. Any sport gives the child a 'me time' besides their routine academic works. They do make new friends and socialize more. Effortlessly, sports prevent any other distraction a child is likely to get into. Health of the child is taken care of in its own way.  There is no way of pointing out a single negative thing about involving a child in sport. Playground is the place where one could see the real child - all facets!!!!

Despite these advantages existing in both individual and team sports, the primary choice of majority of parents remains 'individual sporting events.' There are quite a number of reasons for one to choose so  - primarily personal interest, one's physique, its sole dependence on the individual's ability and practice, limelight, availability and accessibility of the coach. There is a common belief that 'to train a child in an individual sport is easier and the returns are higher in relative terms.' Also parents now begin to think of sporting events that have less competition on ground to make it easier for them to train kids towards achievement of national, international recognition or so.This has led parents to plunge into Chess, Badminton, Tennis, and even Shooting.

Though this is not an unwelcoming thing, considering the fact that children are slowly forgetting how to socialize, there is a desperate need to include them in a team sport.  No matter how rich/poor we are, none of us can ever live in isolation or just stick to 'our type of people.' If we happen to be someone dreaming about a better and peaceful world, it certainly starts with our children being in a team. Not necessarily a serious, career oriented sport activity. Yet, being with one. 

It is visible that children find it difficult to be in a team, however small or big it is. The habit of complaining, bullying and cornering have become habitual and common everywhere. To be a part of a group, sharing while playing, acceptance of winning/losing, giving a hand to a teammate or an opponent is all part of a team sport which is thoroughly fading enough. Even when a child is in a team, he or she makes sure (or the parents make sure) that they outshine others and prove to be an independent winner in a group sport. It is very common to see children fighting with their own teammates to be felt seen and finally end up losing as a team. Schools also find it easier to conduct individual events rather than team events. 

There would be a regretting stage in our lives if we do not let our children be a team player, no matter how good they are at an individual sport! A playground and teams on field are just a replica of our social lives and the former make the latter better and joyous! 💗

Well-begun is half-done! 

Yes, it all started well and children are visiting the library everyday!😍

Our vision is to initiate children libraries in the villages around us. We thought we could afford doing one in a year and it is practically feasible to have a breathing space and also to learn from the first year's mistakes. However,

(1) the second village we had in our mind is within the radius of 5 km from our residence which has good number of children.💟

(2) right on the day of inauguration aachi's grandson willingly asked us if one could be opened in their village where a small space is readily available.💕

(3) the Universe is distracting our attention towards the Juvenile Home right from the day of inauguration in various forms. I find it unbelievable! We heard from authorities of the Home, random news on Juvenile Homes are seen, incidentally had to park our vehicle in front of the Home's gate exactly the night of the inauguration, and so on.💝

It is quite overwhelming. My husband and I have relaxed our decision of having one library in a year and are now open to start the next in a couple of months. But where do we do? Our intuition says to go for the Juvenile Home choice. Another thought says that a library elsewhere would prevent children ending up in such Homes. 

We are open to receiving your opinion/suggestion/advice on this! Trust me, they are valuable to us.
