Let's find our Totem ЁЯШКЁЯШШЁЯШН

I got introduced to this term "Totem" recently from a book on co-existence of human and nature.

Totem is a natural thing such as a plant, animal, bird or river or any of that kind with which a tribe or community or individuals (believe to) have a spiritual connection. ЁЯМ▒ЁЯМ▓ЁЯМ│ЁЯМ╖ЁЯНВЁЯР╛

During the first reading and understanding of this term, it felt more like one’s connection with family deity. But this is not just it. It is in culture of some tribes in India and across the world, where they build a deep connection with nature.

It is passed on from generation to generation. This spiritual connection brings human beings closer to nature and it teaches/reminds them to be responsible towards nature. It reiterates the fact that we are just co-habitants of the earth and have little or no authority over other natural beings. ЁЯТе

For example, if there is a clan in which a family’s Totem is goat, they never harm the animal. Similarly, if one’s Totem is a neem tree, it becomes their life’s mission to plant more neem trees and not cut even a single one in their entire lifetime, come what may. ЁЯЩМ

It is so fascinating to know this term. Moreover, sound of the term is beautiful in itself.

I was asking my husband what our Totem was.  Amidst many things, discovering our Totem would give an extra purpose to live and would add some extra beauty to living, wouldn’t it?

I will soon find mine.

Do you have one? Or will you find one and share it with me?ЁЯТЧ

I would truly be glad and excited to hear from you! ЁЯТЦ
